Longis Bay, Alderney

The most popular way to get to the island is to fly from the UK.

There is a passenger ferry but it currently only runs from the end of May to the end of September to the island from the Guernsey.

Flights can get booked up in the summer as the planes, whether direct from the UK or from the other islands, Planes take a maximum of 16 people.

There is currently only one airline that flies into the island, as follows:-

AURIGNY (pronounced aureeny)   www.aurigny.com  Tel: 01481 822886

* Flights to Alderney direct from Southampton

* Flights also from Manchester, Leeds Bradford, East Midlands, London Gatwick, Bristol, London City or London Stansted which connect to Alderney via Guernsey

* Car parking is available at Southampton Airport, cheaper if you pre-book (www.southamptonairport.com).  Allow a bit of extra time as you have to get a courtesy bus to the terminal

* The train station is at Southampton airport so no need for taxi

Other airlines like Blue Islands fly into Guernsey and then you can buy flights with Aurigny from Guernsey to Alderney.  If you choose to go this route it is a good idea to leave yourselves a couple of hours between connections in case of weather delays.  You can also fly into Jersey but from Jersey you have to go via Guernsey to get to Alderney anyway.

Passenger ferry:

A passenger ferry service runs a service between Alderney and Guernsey called The Little Ferry Company

This runs from the end of May to the end of September
